Ebb And Flow Bench For Greenhouse

Ebb and flow bench is a cultivation bed with a plastic structure and a tidal seedling tray made of plastic. It is also called a bottom irrigation cultivation bed. This ebb and flow irrigation mobile seedbed uses basically the same columns and supports as commercial metal structure cultivation beds, and the bed surface uses a molded impermeable plastic seedling tray. When irrigating, the seedling tray is filled with clean water or nutrient solution and allowed to stay for a certain period of time, so that the crops can absorb water through the drainage holes at the bottom of the flowerpot through capillary action. Irrigation water is then drained out of the cultivation bed, either collected and reused, or drained directly to local sewers.

Characteristics of ebb and flow bench

    p1zox

Ebb and flow bench is an advanced irrigation method designed for pot plant nutrient solution cultivation or container seedling cultivation and soilless cultivation. This method uses the principle of drop to realize timed water supply and fertilization. A large number of experimental studies at home and abroad have shown that the growth rate of crops using ebb and flow  irrigation is obviously better than that of artificial irrigation, which can not only reduce the occurrence of gangrene and wrinkled leaves, but also reduce water consumption by 33% and increase water use efficiency by 40%. Because ebb and flow irrigation has no shower effect, it can also reduce nitrogen use by 30% to 35%, and greatly improve nitrogen use efficiency.

Advantages of ebb and flow bench

Ebb and flow benches or named flood benches mean no water logging and no dry periods.  Water is applied to the bottoms of the plants and allowed to travel upwards to the roots and stems through capillary action.

Up to 90% less water consumption
Up to 90% less fertilizer usage
Up to 60% Reduced labor costs standing watering individual pots and constant checking of watering needs Significant reduction in chemicals – especially fungicides

All plants are watered simultaneously and evenly providing better plant growth
Crop growth cycle is typically reduced by 1 to 2 weeks
Retail areas remain clean and dry and clear of hoses
Dry floors and plant foliage make it easier to control relative humidity
