Qingdao Agricultural University students went to Hualiang Greenhouse for internship activities

2025-04-10

In order to deepen the school-enterprise cooperation and improve students' practical ability, teachers and students of the College of Horticulture of Qingdao Agricultural University went to Shandong Hualiang Greenhouse Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Hualiang Greenhouse") to carry out a one-week industry-university integration internship. The internship is themed "Smart Agriculture and Facility Horticulture" and helps students integrate theoretical knowledge with the forefront of the industry through a combination of on-site observation, technical operation and special lectures.

Practical teaching: Touching the pulse of modern agricultural technology

During the internship, the Hualiang Greenhouse Technology Team led students to go deep into the intelligent multi-span greenhouse, solar greenhouse and seedling factory, and explained the application of greenhouse environmental control system, water-fertilizer integrated equipment and Internet of Things monitoring technology on site. Students participated in the daily management of greenhouse crops (tomatoes, bell peppers, etc.) in groups, including temperature and humidity control, pest control and data collection and analysis, and operated automated irrigation equipment by hand to experience the efficiency and precision of digital agriculture.

"The sensor principle in the textbook has become real-time data in front of me. This kind of "visible and tangible" learning has given me a deeper understanding of smart agriculture."

Industry-university dialogue: expert classroom empowers career development

The general manager of Hualiang Greenhouse held lectures on topics such as "Development Trends of China's Facility Agriculture" and "Pain Points in Greenhouse Construction and Operation", and analyzed industry opportunities and talent needs in combination with the "Belt and Road" overseas greenhouse project cases in which the company participated. At the symposium, the company's engineers also answered questions raised by students about soilless cultivation cost control and difficulties in promoting new energy greenhouses, and the on-site interaction was enthusiastic.

School-enterprise linkage: jointly nurturing new forces in the industry

The teacher leading the team from Qingdao Agricultural University pointed out that Hualiang Greenhouse, as a key leading enterprise in agricultural industrialization in Shandong Province, provides a vivid case for teaching with its technology application scenarios. "This model of 'moving the classroom to the field' can effectively shorten the adaptation period for students from campus to the workplace." The company said that many students showed solid professional qualities and innovative thinking during the internship. In the future, they will deepen the industry-university-research cooperation with the school and jointly explore the order-based talent training plan.

It is reported that Qingdao Agricultural University has continued to promote the construction of "new agricultural science" in recent years and has established internship bases with more than 30 agricultural technology companies in and outside the province. This trip to Hualiang Greenhouse not only strengthened students' understanding of the modern agricultural industry chain, but also laid the groundwork for the joint efforts of schools and enterprises to tackle the "bottleneck" technology of facility agriculture.
