Guinea 5000 SQM film greenhouses loading container

2026-07-24

A shipment of containers loaded with equipment for intelligent multi-span plastic-film greenhouses has successfully departed from a domestic factory, bound for the West African nation of Guinea. The project encompasses a comprehensive suite of modern facilities—including hot-dip galvanized frameworks, dual-layer shading systems, evaporative cooling systems (wet pads and fans), irrigation systems, and seedling nursery beds. Upon delivery, the project will also include technical guidance on cultivation, bringing a "Chinese solution" to the development of protected agriculture in Guinea.

**Tailored Solutions to Overcome Tropical Cultivation Challenges**

Guinea's coastal regions experience a tropical monsoon climate characterized by high temperatures and heavy rainfall year-round; average annual temperatures range from 24°C to 32°C, and coastal annual precipitation can exceed 4,000 millimeters. These hot and humid conditions pose severe challenges for agricultural production; traditional open-field farming often suffers from intense sunlight and torrential rains, which hinder crop growth.

The multi-span plastic-film greenhouses being exported were custom-designed specifically for Guinea's tropical monsoon climate. The main structure features a lightweight steel framework that is fully hot-dip galvanized—with a coating thickness exceeding 150 microns—ensuring robust structural integrity and high corrosion resistance capable of withstanding high heat, humidity, and coastal salt-spray environments. The covering material consists of high-quality 150-micron PO (polyolefin) film, which offers high light transmission, aging resistance, and anti-drip properties, thereby providing a stable light and thermal environment for the crops.

**Integrated Systems for Intelligent Environmental Control**

Regarding environmental regulation, the greenhouse integrates multiple intelligent systems. External and internal shading systems work in tandem: the external system directly blocks solar radiation from entering the greenhouse, effectively reducing heat accumulation, while the internal system aids in heat retention and supplementary cooling. The evaporative cooling system (wet pads and fans) utilizes the principle of evaporative cooling to lower internal temperatures through airflow; when combined with the shading systems, it effectively reduces the indoor temperature.

Additionally, the greenhouse is equipped with top and side roll-up ventilation systems that automatically open and close windows based on indoor temperature and humidity levels, facilitating natural ventilation. An internal circulation fan system ensures uniform airflow throughout the greenhouse, eliminating "dead zones" where temperature or humidity might otherwise stagnate. The inclusion of irrigation and seedling propagation systems equips the greenhouse with end-to-end production capabilities, spanning the entire process from seedling raising to crop cultivation.

**From Equipment Export to Technology Transfer: Delivering Full-Chain Services**

The greenhouse equipment shipped in this instance comprises all structural connectors, film-rolling motors, evaporative cooling pads, exhaust fans, control systems, and installation hardware. Yet, this marks only the beginning of the service: following installation, the supplier will provide the client with cultivation guidance, offering comprehensive technical support that covers everything from crop variety selection and cultivation management to pest and disease control.

This "equipment plus technology" full-chain service model represents an upgraded pathway for China's protected agriculture sector to expand internationally. As industry practice has demonstrated, "What we export is not merely a greenhouse, but a complete, practical, and sustainable Chinese agricultural solution." Transitioning from simply selling products or structures to exporting cultivation plans and management systems, Chinese agricultural enterprises are bringing a modern agricultural value chain—encompassing variety selection, technical guidance, and operational management—to the global stage.

**Deepening Agricultural Cooperation with Guinea and Bolstering Food Security**

The implementation of this smart greenhouse project introduces advanced protected agriculture technology to Guinea, thereby enhancing local capacity for cultivating high-value cash crops.

With the shipment of this equipment, Chinese protected agriculture technology is set to take root and flourish in West Africa. From equipment manufacturing and technology transfer to project construction and cultivation guidance, Chinese agricultural enterprises are leveraging their full-chain service capabilities to contribute Chinese wisdom and solutions to global agricultural development.
